Service Description
At Straeon, Scene Study is at the heart of what we do. Becoming an extraordinary storyteller takes consistent, hands-on practice, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Think of Straeon as your acting gym, with Isabel Lehoux and Jock MacDonald as your personal trainers. The Afternoon Scene Study is a more intimate, focused version of our evening flagship class. With a smaller group size, we’re able to work longer and explore more deeply. That extra space allows for nuanced scene work, personal coaching, and time to develop the kind of layered, connected storytelling that can’t be rushed. Every two weeks, you’ll be assigned a new scene and partner selected by the coaches. In the first week, you’ll bring in the work you’ve built through rehearsal, as though arriving on set. We’ll guide you with specific coaching and direction. In the second week, we work through the scene again under on-set conditions, exploring multiple takes and refining the scene moment by moment. What makes the afternoon class unique is the space to slow down and go further. Together we’ll explore character, emotional journey, subtext, and much more. It’s a setting for actors who want to dive deep and grow with intention. This is a space for committed actors seeking transformation in their craft. As you progress, we’ll introduce more complex characters, varied genres, and emotional range challenges. Our goal is to help you deepen your storytelling and rise to every creative opportunity with confidence. All classes are recorded for educational purposes, giving you the tools to review, reflect, and grow between sessions. We’d be honoured to be part of your journey. Upcoming Sessions
Attendance, Refund and Cancellation Policy: At Straeon Acting Studios, we prioritize the collaborative nature of our classes, recognizing the mutual dependence between scene partners. To ensure the smooth functioning of our programs, we have established the following attendance and cancellation policy: 1. Weekly Attendance Requirement: - We expect our clients to attend every class, as their presence is crucial for the collaborative work with their scene partner. 2. Notification of Absence: - If, for any reason, a client cannot attend a class, we require them to notify us by Tuesday before the scheduled class. This allows us to adjust scene assignments accordingly. 3. Scene Assignment Allocation: - If you miss a class in the middle of a scene assignment, the second work of that scene will be forfeited, and you and your scene partner will be given a different scene and scene partner. 4. Refund and Rescheduling Policy: - We do not provide refunds for classes taken or missed. - Rescheduling of classes is not offered. 5. Cancellation Process: - Clients can cancel their program at any time by contacting us at info@straeonactingclasses.com. - Alternatively, cancellation can be initiated through your membership account. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy.
